In this social-historical context, "there comes the image of a religious who was able and willing to dare with the courage and novelty of the Spirit, often intent on pursuing new paths, sometimes at the limit of what a certain Capuchin tradition handed him, capable of facing complex situations with commitment and charity, convinced that he could account for and defend his choices."
FRANCISCAN SISTERS CONGREGATION OF THE LORD
Father Angelico Lipani's assistance activities grew, but consensus and admiration also grew around him. Many nisseni and non nisseni began to share his project of charity, but it was from this first intuition that another, even more challenging one began to mature: to give life to a religious institute for women, where the nuns would be devoted as he was to the service of the people. Thus began to take shape the project of founding the Franciscan Sisters of the Lord of the City-it was 1885.
As in any religious and spiritual experience, the Congregation of the Franciscan Sisters of the Lord is dotted with figures of everyday holiness, many sisters who, keeping the promise made to the Founder, sought holiness in their everyday lives.
